Economists, Take Note: The Transit Market Evolves
A friend who had to get to his office had begun his two-mile walk down a major avenue was surprisingly picked up by a miscellaneous airline shuttle bus. He says he doesn't know if it's officially sanctioned somehow or ad hoc, but it's working out well for the driver who's getting tipped by grateful riders. Most people are apparently sliding him at least the $2 they would have put into the fare box.
